【摘要】:Secondarywastewatertreatmentusingactivatedsludgeisoneofthemostimportantbiologicaltreatmentprocessesinusetoday.Theporouspotsimulatestheactivatedsludgesewagetreatmentprocessinthelaboratoryandprovidesdatathatcanbeusedtopredictthefateoforganiccompoundsinfullscaleplants.Agoodcorrelationbetweenthelaboratorytestandfullscaleplantsisachievedbytheuseofprimaryeffluentorsettleddomesticsewageandcontrollingkeyparametersinrangestypicalofsuchtreatmentprocess.Theseparametersincludetemperature,pH,DOconcentration,hydraulicresidencetime(HRT)andsludgeretentiontime(SRT).1.1Thistestmethodcoverssimulatingtheactivatedsludgesewagetreatmentprocessandthereforegivesameasureoftheextentofbiodegradationorremovallikelytooccurduringsewagetreatment.1.2Assessmentoftreatabilityorbiodegradability,orboth,ofwatersolubleorganiccompoundsintheporouspottestrequiresdissolvedorganiccarbon(DOC)measurementsorspecificchemicalanalysis.1.2.1Dissolvedorganiccarbon(DOC)measurements,relativetothecontrols,canbeusedtocalculatetheremovalofthetestchemicalorwatersolubleresiduesbytheporouspottreatment(see12.3).TheDOCmeasurementsdonotidentifywatersolublechemicals.Specificchemicalanalysis,ontheotherhand,canbeusedtoidentifyandquantifytheparenttestchemicalor(ifstandardsareavailable)anywatersolubleresiduesformedbytheporouspottreatment.Aspecificchemicalanalyticalmethodmusthavealimitofdetection(LOD)x2264;0.1mg/Linwaterorx2264;0.1mg/Kginsolids.1.3Thefeaturethatdistinguishesthistestfromotheractivatedsludgesimulationtestsistheretentionoftheactivatedsludgeinaporousliner,thateliminatestheneedforasecondaryclarifierandfacilitatescontrolofthecriticalparameter,thesludgeretentiontime(SRT).1.4Porouspotscanbecompletelysealedandtestsusing14C-labeledtestcompoundsarethenpossible.Carbondioxideintheexhaustgasandbicarbonateintheeffluentcanbeusedtogethertoassesstheextentofmineralization,andlevelsofradiolabelinthesludgeandintheaqueousphasemayalsobedetermined.1.5BysimultaneouslymeasuringtheefficiencyofthepotsinremovingDOC,itisalsopossibletodeterminewhetherthetestcompoundhasanyadverseeffectonnormalsewagetreatmentprocesses.1.6TheSIunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecifichazardstatementsseeSection6.
