【摘要】:Animportantfactoraffectingtheperformanceofjointsofnonbituminousmembranesistheirabilitytoremainbondedoverthemembranersquo;expectedservicelife.Time-to-failuretestsprovideameansofcharacterizingthebehaviorofjointsunderconstantloadovertime.Creepisasensitiveindexofrheologicalpropertiesthatdependonmaterial,load,temperature,andtime.Time-to-failuredatathatareobtainedoverarelativelyshorttimeperiodcanevaluateonefactoraffectingajointrsquo;abilitytowithstandstaticloadingoverarelativelylongtimeperiod.Time-to-failuredataforjointsofnonbituminousorganicroofmembranespecimenscanbeusedforthefollowing:(1)toprovideameasureoftheload-carryingabilityofthejointasafunctionoftimeatvariouslevelsofload,temperature,andrelativehumidity;(2)tocharacterizethejointwithregardtofactorsaffectingperformance,suchassurfacepreparationoftheadherend,solvent-basedadhesivethicknessandopentime,environmentduringadhesiveapplicationandcure,andtemperatureofthermalweldingprocesses;and(3)tocomparetheeffectsofdifferentbondingprocessesoradhesivebondingmaterialsonjointperformance.Whileitisconsideredthattheresultsobtainedbythislaboratorytestmayaffordameasureoftheperformanceofseamsinservice,providedthatload,temperature,andhumidityconditionsareknown,nodirectcorrelationhasbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoverslaboratorydeterminationofthetime-to-failure(creep-rupture)ofjointsfabricatedfromnonbituminousorganicroofmembranematerial.ThetestmethodcoversbothT-peelandlap-shearjointssubjectedtoconstanttensileloadundercontrolledenvironmentalconditions.Thejoints,madefromeitherunreinforcedorfabric-reinforcedmembranematerial,arepreparedinthelaboratoryorsampledfromroofsinservice.1.2Sheetmaterialsfromwhichthejointsarefabricatedincludevulcanizedrubbers,nonvulcanizedpolymericsheets,andthermoplastics.Thebondingmethodsforjointformationincludetheuseofliquid-basedadhesives,preformedtapes,andthermalandsolventweldprocesses.1.3ThevaluesstatedinS.I.unitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
