【摘要】:ThisPartofEN843containsguidelinestobeadoptedwhenevaluatingtheappearanceofthefracturesurfaceofanadvancedtechnicalceramic.Thepurposeinundertakingthisprocedurecanbevarious,forexample,formaterialdevelopmentorqualityassessment,toidentifynormalorabnormalcausesoffailure,orasadesignaid.NOTENotalladvancedtechnicalceramicsareamenabletofractography.Inparticular,coarse-grainedceramicscanshowsuchroughsurfacesthatidentifyingthefractureoriginmaybeimpossible.Similarly,porousmaterials,especiallythoseofagranularnature,tendnottofractureinacontinuousmanner,makinganalysisdifficult.
